A HANDGUN AND AN APOLOGY: 2nd Amendment Spokesman Makes Persuasive Point (Guest in EDT)

Image

In one of the most important gun rights victories in recent years, the Supreme Court last month ruled in favor of McDonald v. Chicago, and determined that the 2nd Amendment is incorporated through the 14th Amendment, therefore taking precedent over any state or local laws enacted to outlaw guns.

But, as Erich Pratt, communications director for the Gun Owners of America (GOA), points out in an editorial released today, another notable, yet far more obscure, event related to the gun rights debate also took place last month.

Before the McDonald decision, somewhere across the Atlantic, British Prime Minister David Cameron issued an apology for the 1972 Bloody Sunday massacre in which British soldiers shot and killed more than a dozen unarmed Irish protestors.

Now, Pratt contends, if the U.S. government doesn’t want to extend the same brand of apology for similar acts of oppression against its citizens in its history here at home, at least the Supreme Court had it right when it cited several of these examples upon which it made its case to overturn Chicago’s gun ban.

For a more in-depth discussion on its content, the McDonald case and all the historical proof supporting why the 2nd Amendment is so critical to our freedom and our civilization, contact Special Guests to schedule an interview with Erich Pratt. In spite of the victories like the one in June, he can explain why the gun rights battle is still as imperative today as it was last month, or in the last 234 years.
