YOUR MONEY OR YOUR LIFE: Baucus Version of ObamaCare Bullies Gun Owners (guests in DC or by phone)
One way or the other, if you’re a law-abiding gun owner in America, the latest ObamaCare plan put forth by Congress will own you. At least, that’s the way the bill—sponsored by Senate Finance Committee Chairman, Max Baucus (D-MT)—appears to be written.
Except no one is allowed to actually read the bill!
Larry Pratt, Executive Director of the Gun Owners of America (GOA), is available for interviews to discuss what he calls another attempt by Washington to ramrod a bill that, this time around, is “the most expansive government intrusion into healthcare of our lifetime.”
What has Pratt so alarmed? Dovetailing on a provision written into the President’s $787 billion stimulus bill last spring, Baucus’ government healthcare plan “option” would require all gun-related medical data associated with those under the plan be funneled into a national health database.
True, Americans would have the so-called option to decline the government plan and NOT have such personal information at the fingertips of the feds. But, for those folks however, the Baucus bill levies up to a $3,800 fine, payable to Uncle Sam.
“Let me get this straight,” says Pratt. “If you choose to exercise your 2nd Amendment rights under Senator Baucus’ proposed healthcare law, you have to buy your right to medical privacy.”
As if that wasn’t enough, Pratt calls out Baucus for trying to force feed the legislation down the throats of the American people, with a little insult cherry on top, stating, “We, the people, have every right to see the actual language of the bill to confirm its intentions. But what is Senator Baucus’ view on that? He tries to sweep it aside with condescension by saying the ‘legislative language is very complex,’ as if the American people are too stupid to understand it.”
In his organization’s membership email alert, rallying the troops to call their Senators and kill this bill, the GOA also demands a definitive Congressional Budget Office assessment of the plan’s cost—another request that ObamaCare drones are reluctant to fulfill.
For an impassioned discussion on this highly controversial topic, call Special Guests right away to invite Larry Pratt on your show. His seasoned perspective and intellectual proximity to such legislation always makes for a compelling interview.
Also available for interviews is GOA communications director Erich Pratt.
