WALID SHOEBAT AT OXFORD UNIVERSITY: Former Terrorist Invited To Debate British Islamic Scholar And Muslim Baroness

Image Islam is not compatible with western liberalism! This is the controversial title of the debate to be held at Oxford University on February 5th and to be debated at the prestigious Oxford Union.

Walid Shoebat has been invited to make opening arguments. Opposing Shoebat will Baroness Warsi, a Muslim lawyer and politician along with Sheikh Faiz-ul-Aqtab Siddiqi, a Muslim scholar.

Of course, the debate is expected to be lively and intense as Shoebat, a former Muslim himself, says that regardless of how western cultures view Islam, Islam sees Sharia law as the only acceptable law when it comes to governance. “It makes no difference if the west is naïve or in denial,” says Shoebat. “Islam has one goal and it is to overthrow all western cultures.”

In Opposition:

BARONESS WARSI is a lawyer, politician, Shadow Minister for Community, Cohesion and Social Action, and without doubt one of the most prominent British Muslims in public lifetoday. Born to Pakistani parents in Yorkshire, her life and career are (at least for those who oppose this motion) living examples of how Islam can have a place at the very heart of Western liberal democracies.

SHEIKH FAIZ-UL-AQTAB SIDDIQI is a British Muslim scholar, responsible for launching the Muslim Arbitration Tribunal to address forced marriages within his community. He is a veteran political activist, having defended the use of Islamic family law in the UK as well as organizing demonstrations against the publication of the Danish cartoons of the Prophet Muhammad.

ABOUT WALID SHOEBAT…

Born in Bethlehem of Judea, Walid’s grandfather was the Muslim Mukhtar (chieftain) of Beit Sahour-Bethlehem (The Shepherd's Fields) and a friend of Haj-Ameen Al-Husseni, the Grand Mufti of Jerusalem and notorious friend of Adolf Hitler.

Walid’s great grandfather, Abdullah Ali Awad-Allah, was also a fighter and close associate of both Abdul Qader and Haj Amin Al-Husseini, who led the Palestinians against Israel. Walid lived through and witnessed Israel’s Six Day War while living in Jericho.

As a young man, he became a member of the Palestinian Liberation Organization, and participated in acts of terror and violence against Israel, and was later imprisoned in the Russian Compound, Jerusalem's central prison for incitement and violence against Israel.
After his release, he continued his life of violence and rioting in Bethlehem and the Temple Mount. After entering the U.S, he worked as a counselor for the Arab Student Organization at Loop College in Chicago and continued his anti-Israel activities.

ABOUT ‘WHY WE WANT TO KILL YOU’

WHY WE WANT TO KILL YOU emulates the regrets Walid feels as he looks back over 33 years of violence, the deep passion (which Walid calls his driving force) that now heals his soul; the truths he learned regarding the Jews and Israel, and how we can all become more aware of those in our midst, who, regardless of race or color, may be our enemy, as they sit and wait to bring us harm.
