TOUGH LOVE FOR THE EU: How Will G20’s Snub Affect Global Economy?

Image

With all eyes on the price of gasoline in the States, some of the other equally troubling variables in our shaky economic recovery are quietly reminding us that they’re no less a threat.

One, in particular, has caught the attention of financial analyst and business owner Phil Cioppa. Among virtually any topic regarding the markets, he’s available to discuss the ever struggling European Union and the latest development to further cast doubts on the EU’s stability.

Just days ago, more EU hands reached out to the world’s finance ministers at a meeting of the G20 nations in Mexico. Unfortunately, the faucet—at least for now—appears to be shut off (see the link below), putting more pressure back on the Germans to step up as the region’s leader.

• How will Germany respond?
• Will Greece leave the EU and return to its own currency, as some are advising?
• How does this crisis look to play out right now?
• What kind of scenarios are we looking at regarding the impact on the U.S. and the global economy?
• Are there other geopolitical issues outside of the EU that create more market anxiety right now?

Cioppa can address these questions and more.

“The Euro is a disaster,” he says. “As we phased it in, we need to phase it out. Greece, Portugal, Italy…? Italy is among the world’s largest tourist destinations, yet their economy is on the verge of collapse? This was created by a de-valuation of national currencies, the end to healthy European competition, and a false sense of a European Union that was never meant to weaken Europe, yet has done so dramatically. The Euro needs to go the way of ‘Esperanto’.”
