Why Curse the Darkness When You Can Light a Candle?

The Story of Patti Garibay, Founder and Executive Director of American Heritage Girls

Anxiety disorders are on the rise for young girls, along with the struggle of not feeling worthy enough, smart enough, or pretty enough. Today’s culture of social media influences, girls bent on bullying, and oversexualized music performances make matters worse – something Patti Garibay, the Founder & Executive Director of American Heritage Girls (AHG) knows all too well.

Garibay has spent the last 25 years walking alongside families in raising Godly girls through AHG’s faith-based, scout-type youth ministry. In her forthcoming book, “Why Curse the Darkness When you can Light a Candle?” she shares her life’s story of trust and obedience to inspire those who desire to make a Kingdom impact, yet struggle with fears of inadequacy.
