Republicans have spent the better part of the last 7 years begging, pleading, with the American public if given the chance they will repeal Obamacare when they win the White House. In fact, to prove their bravado they took aim at repealing the bill over 40 times in “symbolic” gestures. But now, with all three branches of government under their control they had an opportunity to repeal Obamacare and could not come up with enough votes.
That’s the latest rant of wisdom from political pundit/author Josh Bernstein, who is available for Talk Show interviews on this topic. Statement by Josh Bernstein:
I believe where the Republicans went wrong was by trying to repeal and replace Obamacare at the same time. If they would have just repealed it and NOT replaced it they would have been more successful. But what about the Americans that would have lost their insurance? Republicans could have set up a special, temporary bill that covered anyone who lost coverage while they were setting up a final replacement bill. There was no rush. Getting it right the first time is all that mattered. They tried to do too much at one time and that is where they made the mistake. If Republican leaders had adopted the structure of The Association of Mature American Citizens (AMAC) health care bill they would have been much more successful.
What is AMAC’S Plan to replace Obamacare?
AMAC’S BEST PLAN is what ultimately the Republicans should have replaced Obamacare with. It is Bi-partisan, Easy, Simple, and Timely. You actually do get to keep your doctor, It does cover pre-existing conditions, only the patient and the doctor is involved in your medical care decisions, there is an option to keep a child on their parent’s policy till age 26, and it is free market based. Also, there are no co-pays or deductibles for doctors’ visits, and it dramatically increases HSA’S (health savings accounts) Best of all it is ONLY 15 pages long and it eliminates the employer mandate!
So, what is next? Is President Trump really going to just leave a failing program like Obamacare to wither away and die? Or is he going to take another crack at it in the very near future?
Will the Republicans ever really repeal Obamacare or are we stuck with it? –Josh Bernstein
