TALK-HOST BARRY FARBER HONORED BY GOVERNMENT OF HUNGARY IN 60th ANNIVERSARY OF HUNGARIAN REVOLUTION AGAINST SOVIET OPPRESSION IN OCTOBER, 1956

NATIONAL RADIO HALL OF FAME MEMBER BARRY FARBER WAS INVITED BY THE GOVERNMENT OF HUNGARY TO BUDAPEST TO BE HONORED FOR HIS ACTIVITIES DURING AND AFTER THE HUNGARIAN REVOLUTION AGAINST SOVIET OPPRESSION IN OCTOBER, 1956.

In an e-mail message to Barry Farber, whose radio show is now in its fifty-sixth year, Hungarian Consul-General in New York Ferenc Kumin saluted Farber for “helping fleeing Hungarians cross the border.  “We would like to acknowledge you for your bravery,” added Consul-General Kumin, “on this sixtieth anniversary of the Hungarian Revolution.”

Farber accepted the invitation to be in Budapest, Hungary on October 22 and 23, 2016 for the 60th Anniversary weekend commemoration of that Freedom Fight.

“We owe the Hungarians big-time,” said Farber in accepting the government of Hungary’s honor.  “That heroic Freedom Fight marked Communism’s high-water mark.  Things went steadily down-hill from there.”
